Then he began to like solitude and to worship his Lord and so he used to seclude himself in the cave of Hira’ and worship therein. The idols and the religion of his people were abhorrent to him and there was nothing more abhorrent to him. Allah caused him to grow in the best way, so that he was the best of his people in honour and virtue and the best of them in character, he was the noblest protector and companion and the greatest of them in gentleness and forbearance, the most honest of them in speech and the most careful in guarding his trusts, so much so that his people named him Al-Ameen (the trustworthy), because of the sound virtues and pleasing noble qualities.
