The Prophet’s humbleness

Prophet Muhammad  sallallaahu  `alayhi  wa  sallam ( may  Allah exalt his mention ) was a perfect model of modesty and humbleness. He  sallallaahu  `alayhi  wa  sallam ( may  Allah exalt his mention ) never spoke loudly or in an unseemly manner. In the market, he always passed by the people quietly with a smile. Whenever he heard anything undesirable in an assembly, he did not say anything out of respect for the people, but the color of his face showed his feelings and the Companions became cautious. `Aa’ishah, may Allah be pleased with her, said that she never saw Allah's Messenger  sallallaahu  `alayhi  wa  sallam ( may  Allah exalt his mention ) laughing so that she could see his molar teeth, for he only used to smile.

The truth about Prophet Muhammad

Loving him is following him

Muslims all over the world are deeply hurt by the recent caricatures of our beloved Prophet Muhammad  sallallaahu  `alayhi  wa  sallam ( may  Allah exalt his mention ) in Danish and several other publications.

Every now and then, some Western media outlets provoke Muslims by insulting the Prophet  sallallaahu  `alayhi  wa  sallam ( may  Allah exalt his mention ). The baiting often succeeds in eliciting Muslims' outrage and sporadic violence.

The latest incident started with a Danish newspaper's caricature portraying the Prophet Muhammad  sallallaahu  `alayhi  wa  sallam ( may  Allah exalt his mention ) as a terrorist. To add insult to injury, Norwegian, French, German, Dutch and a few other newspapers reprinted the defamatory cartoons to "defend"—they claimed—the freedom of expression.

The world before the Prophet Muhammad

When Almighty Allah sent His last and greatest Prophet, Muhammad sallallaaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, , humankind was immersed in a state of degeneration. The messages of the past prophets had been distorted and ignored, civilization was on the decline and humanity had slumped into an age of darkness, with disbelief, oppression and corruption prevalent everywhere. The condition of the world at that time presented the gloomiest picture ever of human history.

Is it not a great honor that the first person to embrace Islam was a woman? She was the first to bear witness that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah and that her husband was the Messenger of Allaah. Her husband was our beloved Prophet, Muhammad  sallallaahu  `alayhi  wa  sallam ( may  Allaah exalt his mention )  and she was Khadeejah  may  Allaah  be  pleased  with  her.

There is diversity in our shared world, but this is so that we know each other

Introduction___This is a difficult subject to write about. As Muslims, we can get quite emotional and sensitive about our identities. We sometimes think that our particular ‘version’ of Islam is better than others and unfortunately we can sometimes be quite narrow-minded. Often people are naïve about the vast historical, political and social stimuli that impact the ways in which we think about the ‘Other’ who is different. We often come across literature that talks about the ‘othering’ of Muslims, but there is also occasionally some ‘othering’ within the Muslim community.

Running Away From the Qur'aan

In the Name of Allâh, the Most Beneficent, the Most MercifulShaykh `Abdul `Aziz ibn BazQuestion:  What is your advice - O Shaykh - for those who go without reading the Qur'aan for a month, or even many months, and who have no excuse for such behaviour? However, you will find some of them reading those magazines that contain no benefit for them, and following them up closely!

Fasting & health

Fasting & health

Islam calls on people to take care of their health and preserve it, because it is one’s capital investment in this life. The Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, told us that a strong believer is better and dearer to Allaah than a weak believer. The reason for this is that a strong believer will be able to fulfill his religious and worldly obligations in the best manner, unlike a weak one who may not be able to handle the burdens of life and its religious demands, and might even become a burden on society.
